Hurricane Ivan Remnants Move off Atlantic Coast after Devastating Eastern U.S. Camp Springs, MD (HDW) September 18, 2004 – The remnants of Hurricane Ivan are approximately 60 miles east-northeast of Norfolk, Virginia and are moving out to the Atlantic Ocean after causing heavy flooding and damage across the Eastern United States and the Gulf States. Flood and flash flood warnings continue for northeastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The Hydro-Meteorological Prediction Center of NOAA in Camp Springs, Maryland will no longer issue advisories for this once powerful hurricane. People are advised to refer to statements offered by their local weather offices for further information concerning the storm formerly known as Hurricane Ivan.
